The machines go to work. These are some of the people running them — jewelry workshops in Europe and North America; research laboratories at major universities; a one-person operation rebuilt after a woodworking injury.

Jewelry by Raims, produced on NS CNC machines

One of our most demanding users.

Master jeweler. JewelryCAM co-developer. Every version ships past his standards or it doesn’t ship.

Raims · featured

Raims graduated from Kaunas Art College in 1982. Four decades as a jeweler and designer followed — commissions across Europe, and bench work to a standard most CAD operators don’t attempt to match. When NS CNC began building JewelryCAM, the 5-axis CAM plugin for Rhino, Raims became the primary artistic collaborator: every strategy, every toolpath generator, every surface finish option had to satisfy his standards before it shipped to customers.

His private commissions, produced on NS CNC machines, are highly technical, detailed custom jewelry. A Mira 6S in a two-person workshop, no industrial scale — and every JewelryCAM version still has to go past Raims before it reaches you.

If the output looks like a CAM part, it’s not finished. The machine has to disappear.Raims

Jonathan Stroud — Chasing Victory

Jonathan Stroud — Chasing Victory

A table-saw accident cost Jonathan most of the function of his left hand. He found his way back through jewelry and the Mira Mill — which handled the bench-level manipulation his hand couldn’t. Chasing Victory produces detailed custom work, from a single Mira 6S.
